Founder & Founding Organising Secretary, IPCI 2027

  • Son of Late Vaidya Chandra Prakash, whose observation in Meerut in the mid-1970s began this work
  • Founder, Padaav Speciality Ayurvedic Treatment Centre
  • Physician to the President of India (Dr K. R. Narayanan)
  • Padmashri, 1999 · Pioneer of Evidence-Based Ayurveda & Rasa Shastra

The IPCI initiative is rooted in the work and clinical legacy of Vaidya Balendu Prakash. From 1997 onwards he systematically documented patients treated through the protocol his father developed, building a longitudinal cohort of more than 2,800 patients with hospital-established diagnoses from across India.

He envisioned IPCI as the next step: a multidisciplinary scientific platform to critically examine the evidence, address unanswered questions and foster collaboration across disciplines and systems for better long-term care in pancreatitis.

IPCI 2027 is the platform he set out to build — the forum on which nearly three decades of clinical documentation can be examined, questioned and taken further.

His contribution was not limited to a treatment approach; it included the recognition that clinical observations must be documented, followed over time and subjected to scientific investigation. The work brought together Ayurvedic knowledge, systematic clinical observation and scientific enquiry.

The objective is therefore not simply to preserve a legacy, but to build upon it through rigorous scientific inquiry and collaboration.

“Our objective is not merely to preserve Ayurveda but to validate, refine and present it to the world through rigorous scientific standards.”
